Vitamin supplementation is also important because cows require large amounts of vitamins late in pregnancy, especially vitamins A, D, E, and selenium. Vitamin A helps prevent premature birth, stillbirth, and retained placenta, while vitamin E and selenium increase the body's defenses against infectious agents. During dry periods, cows need a balanced diet with vitamins.

Pregnancy and lactation, reproduction, and milk production have a significant impact on cows. They had also reduced their dry matter intake during the first two months of breastfeeding. Therefore, cows must store body fat as an energy reserve, especially during this time.

Lactating cows typically use about 1kg of stored fat each day to produce 7kg of milk. If a cow loses more than a kilogram, especially in the first 14 days of lactation, ketosis may occur due to fat accumulation in the liver. In this case, the interval before conception will be longer than usual.

 Dairy cows have become so important in our daily lives that their health problems also become our problems, making this method of prevention an important one.
